Amaal Mallik Announces Break From Film Music Says Need To Heal And Bounce Back With A Heart Full Of Melodies

Singer and composer Amaal Mallik has announced that he is taking a brief break from film music to focus on his health, mental well-being and overall healing. The musician shared a heartfelt update with his fans on X, making it clear that he needs some time away from the hectic world of cinema before returning with fresh music.

In his emotional post, Amaal reassured fans that he is doing well but wants to prioritise himself and what truly matters to him at this stage. He explained that the break is necessary for his mind, body and soul, while promising his followers that he intends to return with renewed energy and plenty of melodies.

Amaal wrote, “I am all good & I will go all the way in, this time, to do what is best for me & only do what is important to my heart & for my health. Need a break for my mind, body, soul and overall physical healing. Need to rise, recuperate and bounce back soon with a heart full of melodies for you all my dearest #Amaalians.”

The singer also clarified that fans should not expect him to take on new film music assignments until next year. However, his previously recorded and unreleased songs could still make their way to audiences if the respective films eventually get theatrical releases.

“No more film music till next year, old unreleased film songs will arrive soon if the films even end up releasing, as they are smaller budget movies with good intent and such people don't get screens easily so don't know the future of those projects,” Amaal added.

His comments also shed light on the challenges faced by smaller films, particularly when it comes to securing theatrical screens. While Amaal has contributed music to several projects, he acknowledged that some of the films containing his unreleased songs are smaller-budget productions and their future remains uncertain.

Rather than ending his message on a sombre note, Amaal signed off with a poetic reflection on his relationship with music. After years of working extensively in the film industry, he suggested that he now wants to reconnect with music itself and return to the source of his creative journey. “Music se cinema tak ka safar mujhe bohot door le aaya hai, ab music ki taraf wapas chalne laga hoon.... Ab mujhe Vida Karo, I'll be back. Anyway signing off for a bit.”

The message struck an emotional chord with his fans, who have followed his journey as a singer, composer and musician. Most recently, he composed the music for Emraan Hashmi starrer Awarapan 2, the sequel that continues the story of Shivam Pandit while introducing a new chapter to the franchise. The film’s music adds another significant credit to Amaal’s career, coming at a time when he has decided to temporarily step back from new film assignments.
